Halsey and Marshmello both teased the release of a new collaboration, titled "Be Kind," this week.

Both artists have posted the same animated floral artwork, which appears to be the single's cover art. Also, Halsey and Marshmello's IG posts have the same captions--the name of their collaborator and the release schedule. "Be Kind" is set to drop on Friday, May 1.

This release marks the confectionery-headed EDM producer's latest work following his hip-hop collaboration with Southside, Giggs, and Saint Jhn with "Been Thru This Before," released last April 3.

Both artists have been uplifting the spirits of quarantined fans while raising funds to support the fight against Covid-19

Mello Pays Forward and After Dark

Marshmello has recently participated in Verizon's "Pay It Forward," a weekly streaming series where artists can perform and support small businesses. The American DJ played "Fortnite" with professional gamer and FaZe Clan member Nate Hill for 45 minutes. Marshmello was quoted as saying, "As a musician, a lot of my business is supported by the men and women in local communities and their businesses who help bring shows and festivals to life and who are now out of work for an unknown amount of time. Let's Pay It Forward and help them now!"

The DJ also kept his creative juices flowing by joining the latest #passthebeat challenge with fellow music producers, including singer-songwriter Benny Blanco, OVO in-house Boi-1da, Latin new wave icon Tainy, and rapper-songwriter Tommy Brown. The resulting audio seamlessly wove in and out every producer's scene, adding their layer to the 1:04 lit beat, prompting fans for a full-track collaboration between these producers.

Also, the DJ has been playing his signature EDM sets in the "Mello After Dark" house music live stream series. One of his sets, last March 27, had the marshmallow-covered DJ performing for one and a half hours for his at-home audience, which reached close to 500,000 at one point.

Halsey's Colors During Quarantine

On the other hand, the pop star has released updated versions of her January single "You Should Be Sad," with remixes from EDM household names Tiësto and Mike Mago, released last month.

Also, Halsey was among the artists who performed for the "Jersey 4 Jersey," fundraiser. The live-streamed event raised funds in support of her native New Jersey, which was among the worst hit by the coronavirus pandemic, now ranking second with the highest number of confirmed cases after New York. The fundraiser also featured performances from her fellow Jersey musicians Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, rock band Fountains of Wayne, and more.

The "Colors" artist has also pledged to donate 100,000 face masks to California hospitals to support medical professionals in the front line against the pandemic. In an Instagram post, she said how "every single day I am in awe of the medical workers on the frontlines," describing their "determination, selflessness, and empathy" as "the single greatest example of our capacity to love and survive as humans."
