Garth Brooks stands to become the bestselling performer of all time when his discography goes digital via his own website, so it's safe to say he feels confident in his standing with fans. Therefore the country icon can continue to screw around with his fan base's minds and emotions. You'll recall that the lead up to his comeback was marked only by the cryptic message "The Sevens have aligned" on his website. The master of suspense has kept it up when it comes to revealing the dates for his comeback tour, revealing the cities one-by-one. Wednesday's news was that Brooks would be bringing his act to Atlanta as the second city on his tour.

Phillips Arena will host the gig, which will also be Brooks' first show in the city since 1996. As usual with the country star, all tickets will be the same price, this time coming in at $71.50, fees included. He'll be playing, as in Chicago, with his wife Trisha Yearwood. Tickets go on sale August 8 at 10:00 a.m.

There may be a business reason behind Brooks announcing his tour stops one-by-one. If it's anything like his Chicago announcement, none of the future dates are actually set in stone yet. Brooks kicked off his tour announcements by confirming four shows at the Windy City's Allstate Arena. Those shows sold out so quickly that he went on to add six more dates. Brooks is therefore playing ten dates in Illinois as a result.

So, in theory, there could be more than 100 shows for Brooks. Of course, it's doubtful that Atlanta could outsell Chicago. Part of Brooks' strategy in starting the tour from the Midwest town is that his 1997 tour run in the city was a personal sales record for the performer. At least until his tour announcement for Chicago this year.

The choice of Atlanta for concert(s) no. 2 may be his curious buddy Andy Roberts. Brooks told reporters at his comeback press conference that the first date would be revealed first to Roberts, a fan who posed the question to him at a Las Vegas Q&A. Brooks told the fan he'd be the first to know the first concert locale. Roberts, as expected, broke the news to the rest of the world via social media. Roberts, as you might have guessed, lives in Atlanta.
