Just yesterday, Swedish sister duo First Aid Kit (Johanna and Klara Söderberg) performed a stellar rendition of Jack White's "Love Interruption." Their rendering is a stripped-down and more of a "rustic, front-porch folk song" than White's original recording.

The "Love Interruption" cover was recorded for Triple J, an Australian radio station, for a series they call Like A Version. Musicians are asked to cover some of their favorite tracks by other artists. Lifted from White's first solo album Blunderbuss (2012), "Love Interruption" was the album's alluring first single, recorded with Nashville singer Ruby Amanfu.

Through the years, First Aid Kit has had an increasing relationship with the famed White. In 2010, he recruited the duo to record at his studio, Third Man Records, in Nashville, Tenn. The sisters are two of many to participate in the label's Blue Series, where bands traveling through Nashville are invited to record a few songs (often covers) in the studio. The songs are produced by White himself and are released digitally and on 7" vinyl. The covers images are shot in Third Man Studio's blue room, the namesake of the series, which doubles as a live music venue and studio. Other noteworthy Blue Series releases include Beck, Dungen, Secret Sisters and Shovels and Rope. For their recording,

First Aid Kit chose Buffy Sainte-Marie's "Universal Soldier" and the classic "It Hurts Me Too." White discussed their session in an interview with Time Out Chicago, saying, "It was beautiful. I wanted to just sit there and listen to them rehearse it over and over again." The sisters' connection with White was strengthened when they later joined him on tour.

In this Like A Version session, First Aid Kit also performed one of their songs, "My Silver Living" off their new release Stay Gold, in the video (posted below). Interestingly, the video starts off right with the sisters singing an a cappella Tenacious D song. Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments.
