Ashley Monroe, a member of Pistol Annies, revealed a heartbreaking update regarding her health.

Monroe braved her emotions and chose to tell her fans what's going on with her health these past few months. The country singer shared how she recently received a diagnosis of a rare form of blood cancer.

In her Instagram post, the 34-year-old singer revealed that she would begin chemotherapy "tomorrow." She added that she discovered the health problem after undergoing a set of blood tests.

Initially, she thought she was just anemic. However, the doctors eventually asked her to take a bone marrow biopsy. From there, she found out that she had Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia.

According to Cancer.org, the disease is a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma where the cancer cells produce huge amounts of abnormal protein.

"It's causing my body to be pretty severely anemic, and I feel it," she wrote. "I'm thankful I have an illness that is VERY live with-able. I'm thankful there IS a treatment that actually works to fight what is causing harm to my body."

She shared photos of herself with her husband, John Danks, son Dalton, and her friends. Her bandmates Miranda Lambert and Angaleena Presley also visited her to show support amid the challenging battle.

In the end, she asked her followers not to give her medical opinions or unsolicited advice. Instead, she wants them to include her in their prayers.

Ashley Monroe is Born Again

The heartbreaking news came after Monroe claimed that she was born again in her latest album, "Rosegold."

In her interview with Flood Magazine back in April 2021, she revealed that the pandemic caused her to see the beauty of honeybees. Upon seeing the group, she reportedly began writing a poem about the queen of the bees.

Following that, she gave birth to "Rosegold" which she had been working on for two years.

"You can note that something's not fine and still choose to be happy that day, or choose to spread light and know that that's the only thing, maybe, you can help the situation with," she went on.

The album has a total of 10 tracks, and Monroe worked hard not to sound any of them as a country. Still, she noted that she aims to write different songs without any restraints.
