Beyoncé released a "Flawless" remix featuring Nicki Minaj late Saturday night. Minaj announced the collaboration via Twitter and Instagram, confirming prior rumors that the two were working on a project after Minaj delayed the release of her new single "Anaconda." This is yet another musical surprise from Beyoncé, whose last album was also put out unannounced.

While a few sources reported that Beyoncé's management company confirmed that the two had been in the studio, the two performers were tight-lipped in regards to the rumors. In a tweet, Minaj reassured her fans that there was a good reason for her postponing her single: "I promise you will understand why before the week is out."

She certainly kept that promise. The two are undeniably aware of their star power, as heard in Nicki's line boasting that she's the "the queen of rap slaying with Queen B." Though they've never collaborated before, their first project is a seriously powerful hit. So many people flocked to listen to the song that it temporarily crashed Beyoncé's website, where it is posted.

Never one to settle for less, Beyonce further fueled the excitement over the remix by openly referencing the elevator incident between her sister Solange and husband Jay-Z in her lines: "Of course sometimes sh*t goes down when there's a billion dollars on an elevator." A video of the altercation exploded across the internet, though Beyoncé's lyrics seem to brush it off as a minor argument.

Despite the public scrutiny, neither of these powerhouses show any signs of slowing down. Beyoncé is currently with Jay Z on their On The Run tour. It is rumored that Minaj's "Anaconda" will be released this week, and last week she appeared on the "Bang Bang" remix with Jessie J and Ariana Grande.
