It seems as though all those rumors are true: there will be a new album from Selena Gomez in 2014, well kind of. Last week (July 30), Spanish language producer Edgar Cortazar confirmed Music Times reports that a greatest hits album from the "Come and Get It" singer is coming in December.

According to Cortazar's Twitter, a best-of effort is coming from Gomez before the end of the year. "#Selenators As promised. December is the date! #SelenaGomezGreatestHits" he wrote (in his native tongue). And he would know, in 2010, he worked with Selena Gomez & The Scene on a Spanish-language version of "A Year Without Rain," fittingly titled "Un Ano Sin Lluvia."

Previously, Music Times reported that Gomez has reached an agreement with her longtime label Hollywood Records that she will release one new greatest hits album in order to fulfill her contract. In addition to sure hits like "Love You Like A Love Song" and "Come And Get It," Gomez is expected to contribute new music to the record.

The greatest hits album has yet to be officially confirmed, but the release is looking more and more likely by the week.

It's a move that comes as no real surprise for the former Disney star, as she tries to transition from a tween idol to a fully-fledged adult pop superstar.

Hilary Duff famously made the same deal with her Hollywood Records contract in 2008 with the release of Best of Hilary Duff. She has since signed on with RCA and is moving to release a new album in the fall.
