Foo Fighters have been one of the most iconic rock bands since they debuted in 1994. The band amassed millions of fans worldwide for their unique take on music. However, founder Dave Grohl recently revealed that their group almost disbanded because of a "ridiculous" idea.

In a recent interview with The Sun, the former Nirvana drummer revealed that the group considered disbanding before releasing one of their records as a part of a marketing strategy.

The scheme would require all of its members to write a biography where they would talk badly of the other bandmates.

"I had a ridiculous idea a few years ago that before the release of one of our records, we would each write a biography in which we would each talk shit about the other members," the musician said. (via Ultimate Classic Rock)

Grohl said the books would come out on the same day, and all of them will have a press conference where they would decide to hate each other and disband.

"And then the idea was a couple of weeks later we'd announce the Reunion Tour just for a joke," he added.

The marketing strategy didn't happen, but Grould thought it was a funny plan.

Elsewhere in the interview, the singer revealed whether Foo Fighters would split in real-life, saying it's "amazing" that the band "never come close to quitting.

Grohl then offered a piece of advice to every existing band, saying, "Don't say you're going to break up. If you're going to break up, just break up. And if you break up - stay broken up."

More recently, one of the band's unusual promotions came to fruition as they are set to release a comedy-horror film titled "Studio 666."

Per the outlet, the movie is based on their experience recording their recent album "Medicine at Midnight." Dave Grohl believed the place where they recorded the LP was haunted.

Speaking about how the idea came to life, the musician said the project was "sort of an accident," as it was one of his ideas that he presented, then his manager randomly said, "this was your idea; you asked us for it; nobody made you."

According to IMBd, the movie revolves around the band moving into a horror mansion to record their 10th album; however, supernatural beings were present in the place that would threaten their lives.
