Charli XCX revealed that she backed out from an NFT Festival due to an alarming reason.

Originally, Charli XCX was tapped to perform at the Afterparty in Las Vegas. The event in question will present Chainsmokers and Kid Laroi as the headliners. The NFT festival is only open to people who have a Utopian NFT or have the money to mint their own Utopian NFT.

People who get an invite with an owner of a Utopian NFT are also allowed to join.

In the new digital cover story for Rolling Stone UK, the singer revealed that she departed from the list of performers after her fans gave her "a lot of flack" due to her initial involvement with the festival.

However, her name no longer appeared on the schedule when the festival released it this week.

"I pulled out of the festival. That was my decision that I made, and I didn't feel the need to announce it or let them know or whatever - but I did pull out," she said.

Aside from excluding herself due to a personal reason, the Afterparty backlash seemingly contributed to her decision. For what it's worth, she noted on Twitter how she noticed some people got angry at her for the songs she released and the way she rolled out her campaign.

Charli XCX Dealing Mental Health Issues

Only two months since 2022 started, the singer opened up that the anger that she suffered from had already affected her mental health.

As quoted by Rolling Stone, the singer spoke candidly about feeling quite low throughout 2022. Though she never cared whether people like her music or not, she was feeling low when they continuously hurt her feelings.

"There is this misconception that people in the public eye are able to take any sh*t that you throw at them, and yes, we do have to learn how to handle negativity and criticism because it comes with the territory, but at the same time, everyone's a f******* human being," she went on.

Despite her recent Afterparty departure, Charli XCX will still have something to offer her fans. She is set to release her new album, "Crash," on March 18.

On March 26, she will start her North American tour as part of the LP's promotion. She will begin her show in Oakland.
