Did Lady Gaga ruin another person's music career?

Heidi Montag alleges that after appearing briefly on an episode of "The Hills" in 2009, the singer-actress hijacked her music career.

The "A Star Is Born" actress, who was on the rise at the time, was also working with producer RedOne like Heidi, and controversy followed.

The 35-year-old TV personality claimed that she and RedOne were going to work together and intended to do what he and Lady Gaga ended up doing, "creating and producing every song together."

Heidi also said on the "Unpopular" podcast that the "Poker Face" hitmaker and RedOne went into the studio with the MTV star to record the song "Fashion," which the producer and Lady Gaga created.

The "Laguna Beach" celebrity went on to say that RedOne told her she only required the permission of "the writer," which she initially mistook for Lady Gaga.

The "Just Dance" singer apparently gave her OK for Heidi Montag to sing the song, so she recorded it and it was later released as part of her repertoire.

Heidi later stated that she used the song to advertise her clothes company during an appearance on "The View." She stated that after her appearance on the show, Lady Gaga brought the song back to record herself for the soundtrack of the 2009 film "Confessions of a Shopaholic."

"It's hard because people are like, 'I adore Lady Gaga!'" she admitted. And I'm like, 'I'm sure she's wonderful, but I haven't had the nicest experience with her.'"

Heidi also recalled a phone chat with the artist after making a cameo appearance as "Gag" in one episode of "The Hills," in which the singer supposedly bragged over shooting a scene with the show's star, Lauren Conrad.

"I chatted to her on the phone for a second and she was like, 'I just filmed with Lauren and Whitney [Port] on The Hills,'" she shouted. 'Who is this girl?' I wondered. What is going on? "She's a hater, plainly," she says, adding that the "Bad Romance" singer's crush on Lauren would "certainly make you not a Heidi lover."

Later, Heidi stated that Lady Gaga barred her from working with RedOne on any new tracks, telling the producer that she would not work with her if Heidi continued to work with her.

RedOne was also the one who worked on "Just Dance" with Lady Gaga, so Heidi assumed the actress wouldn't want to share him since Lady Gaga saw her as a possible competition for what she was doing at the time.
