The biggest night in music is back to award the biggest artists, collaborations, records, and songs within the industry. Fans expect Selena Gomez to bag her first Grammy ever, but unfortunately, she lost to another artist.

According to Infobae, the former Disney Channel star lost her first and only nomination for this year's awards show against Alex Cuba's "Mendò" in the Best Latin Pop Album category.

The singer's album, "Revelación," is her first Spanish-language EP which featured hit tracks such as "Adiós," "Selfish Love," "Vicio," "De una vez," and more.

Both artists were not present at the event, but there are protests against the decision of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

Before the ceremony aired on CBS and Paramount+, some results have already been announced, including Gomez's category.

The reason why the artist didn't attend the show despite her first category is because of her ongoing shoot for the series "Only Murders in the Buildings."

Elle Magazine reported that Gomez was last photographed in New York City, she also went to the Sloomoo Institute with her sister Gracie Teefey.
