DJ Ashba, current lead guitarist for the Guns 'N' Roses, is now happily engaged. But the police department in Las Vegas might not be feeling so sunny about the event

Ashba posted a picture of himself with now-fiancee Nathalia Henao on Instagram Saturday.

"Special [thanks] to the Las Vegas Police Dept. for the most amazing helicopter private tour over Vegas!" Ashba wrote. "We landed in a field at police headquarters were I had a table set up covered in roses [and] a bottle of the bubble stuff."

The image shows both Ashba and Henao wearing earphones, posing inside of a helicopter. The problem: Was the ride kosher? The LVPD confirmed that two civilians had been granted a ride-along in a police helicopter, but they didn't give names.

"An internal affairs investigation has been initiated to determine if any department policies or regulations were violated in granting this ride-along," spokesman Bill Cassell said.

The investigation comes amidst reports that the Las Vegas law enforcement community is strapped for cash. Sheriff Doug Gillespie is pushing for a sales tax increase in Clark County, from 8.1 percent to 8.25 percent, to assist with the problem. The tax initiative is nicknamed "More Cops."

One Instagram commenter made the connection between the LVPD's funding woes and Ashba's helicopter ride.

"It's nice to know that Clark County (which includes Las Vegas), might raise the sales tax to pay for extra cops to give private helicopter tours for wealthy celebrities," they wrote.
