Gold City Has Gone Old-School With a New Hymns Project

New Haven Records has announced that Gold City will release a new album on August 19th. Hymn Revival is their first hymns project in 15 years. Their last one was in 1999 when they released Amazing Grace: A Hymn Collection.

The new project was co-produced by Gordon Mote and contains classic hymns like "Great is Thy Faithfulness" and "I Need Thee Every Hour" as well as more modern hymns like "In Christ Alone" and "The Power of the Cross," all arranged to work perfectly for the quartet sound.

In a press release, Danny Riley, Gold City's lead singer, talked about how much he is looking forward to everyone hearing the new project. He said, "I am excited about this project because many of the hymns that I grew up singing have all but disappeared. I love a lot of the new songs, but the old songs of the church have ministered to me through the years and have a special place in my heart. We have also included some modern hymns that I know will become standards in the church."

Gordon Mote added, "I’m from Gadsden, Alabama, Gold City’s home town. I grew up admiring them and now I have the incredible honor of co-producing them. You can really feel their energy and personality coming through as they sing these classic songs of the church."
