Elvis Presley received hate comments from John Lennon due to one of his songs' lyrics and beat, but a single proved to The Beatles' member that everyone else could love him.

Throughout Presley's active years as a musician, he managed to break and create several records that made him outshine other singers. Some of these were Most Hit Singles On US Chart, Most Weeks On UK Singles Chart, Most US No. 1 Albums By A Male Solo Artist, Most RIAA Certificates Held By A Single Artist, and Most Fan Clubs, to name a few.

However, Lennon became one of the few people who hated his music, and The Beatles member explained why.

Why John Lennon Disliked This Elvis Presley's Song Revealed

In 1963, Lennon appeared on the BBC TV show "Jukebox Jury" after leaving The Beatles. At that time, he was asked to judge the latest singles in the music industry. He had also been a fan of Presley not until the "Can't Help Falling in Love" hitmaker released his "awful" song, "(You're the) Devil in Disguise."

Presley released the single in question in 1963 with "Please Don't Drag That String Around" as a B-side. While fans liked it so much, Lennon said he was not a fan of the single - and his reaction surprised everyone since he was a well-known supporter of the King of Rock and Roll.

He explained: "Well, you know, I used to go mad on Elvis, like all the groups, but not now. I don't like this. I hate songs with 'walk' and 'talk' in it - you know, those lyrics. 'She walks, she talks.' I don't like that. I don't like the double beat: doom-cha doom-cha, that bit. It's awful. Poor ol' Elvis."

Despite not liking the track, he made it clear that he was a fan of Elvis that he kept on playing his record. Thus, he advised the King not to release another single "of that quality."

But his opinions of the song were quickly dismissed and proven wrong by Presley's supporters.

"(You're the) Devil in Disguise immediately became number one in the UK Singles Charts soon after its release. It was then certified Gold after selling more than 500,000 units worldwide while maintaining number three on the US Billboard Singles Chart.

But aside from Lennon, his co-member George Harrison also was not a fan of Elvis' other song, "Kiss me Quick."
