The hotly-anticipated release date of Lizzo's new album has finally arrived. And if fans thought that was all they were getting, she also launched the music video of his latest single, "About Damn Time."

Lizzo New Album 'Special' Release Date

The follow-up for Lizzo's 2019 album 'Cuz I Love You' is set to hit streaming platforms on Jul. 15, 2022.

Produced by Nice Life and Aquatic, Lizzo's new album "Special" will be her fourth studio album.

As of this writing, no tracklist has been announced yet, only its release date and its monochromatic album art where the 34-year-old singer is seen helming a bejeweled headpiece.

Accompanied by "About Damn Time," Lizzo says the album and the single could "lead into so many conversations."

"It's about damn time I feel better; it's about damn time we get out this pandemic. It's about damn time we to get the first Black female Supreme Court Justice. There's so many things. It's about damn time we popped the champagne. It's about damn time the tequila got here," Lizzo spoke to Zane Lowe on New Music Daily on Apple Music 1. (via PEOPLE)

The announcement of her newest effort comes with a Christian Breslauer-directed music video for "About Damn Time."

Lizzo New Song 'About Damn Time' is the 'Song of the Summer?'

The funk and disco-inspired music video come with a Lizzo in sweatpants attending a "Stressed and Sexy" Support group at the beginning.

Later on, she busted her moves in a bedazzled blue sixties overalls paired with white heeled platform shoes.

"I've made the song of the summer with 'About Damn Time'. I'm in my bag, and my bag is music. I'm good at music. It's what I do," Lizzo elaborated in the same interview with Apple Music 1.

The release of the lead single of her new album marks the first time Lizzo released new music since her latest collaboration with "Hustlers" co-star Cardi B with "Rumours."

The album announcement came on the heels of her longstanding legal battle that reached a final decision.

Her Hit No. 1 song "Truth Hurts" was hit with a plagiarism lawsuit after improperly crediting the songwriters of her famous line "I just took a DNA test, turns out I'm 100 percent that bitch."

However, it was finally settled last March 2022 when both parties appealed to the court to "dismiss the entire action without prejudice."
