My Chemical Romance is back! After eight years of waiting, fans can finally hear the band's latest song titled "The Foundations of Decay," and it's described as a trip to nostalgia.

According to Rolling Stone, the six-minute track is a blend of emo rock mixed with clever twists that blend with a hardcore sound.

Along with the song, the band also dropped a visualizer on their YouTube channel, which features what appeared to be a swarm of bees in the dark. (watch the video below)

The latest release comes a few years after MCR announced their highly-anticipated reunion tour in fall 2019.

The band managed to perform one show in December that year, but their tour got canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was later rescheduled for 2021 but got pushed again because of the ongoing concerns with the virus.

Today, the group is gearing up for their Europe and the United Kingdom tour. A North American leg will also begin later this year.

Their long-awaited concert will kick off at the Eden Project in St. Austell on May 16 before traveling to cities like Milton Keynes, Paris, Cardiff, Glasgow, Rotterdam, Bologna, Munich, Budapest, Warsaw, Prague, and more.

Their North American tour will begin at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. Other cities include Inglewood, Houston, Sunrise, Dallas, Denver, Portland, Oakland, La Vegas, Newark, and more.

According to their official website, they will also visit New Zealand and Australia early next year.

Despite My Chemical Romance reuniting, the group, consisting of Gerard Way, Ray Toro, Mikey Way, and Frank Iero, has not publicly announced whether they will be releasing a new album or not.

But, in a previous interview with Aidan Gallagher last year, the frontman said he's working on new music.

However, he didn't clarify whether they were for the band, a solo project, or anyone else.

"I'll literally sit there and I will write as close as possible to what I think are gonna be either the final lyrics, or at least what I'm comfortable singing at that moment," he said after revealing he's been working with engineer Doug McKean who mixes, tweaks, edits, and programs his music.

The last time the band released a studio album was in 2010 titled "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys."
