Another massive indictment has swept a bunch of rappers over alleged felony charges in Bronx, New York.

The New York Police Department and Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark served a 65-count grand indictment that charged over 30 hip-hop artists in the Bronx area.

The indictment came on the heels of the recent shootings that took place around the vicinity of the Rivers Park Towers complex last May 24, 2022.

A total of 34 people were named on the indictment, including multiple drill rappers and, most notably, DThang Gz. (via HipHop DX)

The indicted people were alleged members of the huge network of Bloods-affiliated RPT organizations.

Among the charged cases were conspiracy to commit murder, attempted assault, attempted murder, animal cruelty, and criminal possession of a weapon, among many others.

Seven out of the 34 accused are charged with attempted murder for an incident that took place last August 2020. The group allegedly fired 11 shots into a building vestibule, almost hitting their target's head.

Not more than a year later, members of the RPT organization, along with their allies, were also accused of committing a gang assault on a member of the Crips at Riker's Island.

In continuation with their intimidation of the rival gang Crips, the group has also live-streamed themselves senselessly beating a pigeon which they compared to a Crip wandering on their side of town.

The gruesome murder of the bird was put on Facebook Live, thus the animal cruelty charges.

"I am calling on rappers from the Bronx to stop using music to encourage shootings and use it to better the community. I am asking to have a summit with aspiring rappers and the rap stars who come from the Bronx, record companies, radio stations and social media so we can find solutions to prevent further violence," Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark said.

Per Clark, he is in coordination with the NYPD in battling the gun scourge, as these defendants have irresponsibly engaged in numerous gun violence encounters.

Most recently, a bill in the New York State Senate was passed to limit authorities to prosecute artists, particularly rappers, for using their song lyrics as evidence against them in court.

The indictment came weeks after an almost similar case took place in Atlanta, Georgia - indicting rapper Young Thug, Gunna, and members of the YSL (Young Slime Life) gang over RICO charges and alleged criminal activity.

Both rappers were denied bail as they were prosecuted based on the lyrics of one of their songs.
