Mick Jagger has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, and their ongoing world tour might be in danger.

The diagnosis has particularly affected one show so far, but with protocols in place, fans worry that future performances of the band might suffer as well.

The news came on the heels after the iconic band had performed in Liverpool, with a healthy Mick Jagger singing the lead.

Mick Jagger Tested Positive For COVID-19

Announced through his official Twitter account, Mick Jagger came bearing bad news to his fans anticipating his return to Amsterdam.

"I'm so sorry that we've had to postpone the Amsterdam show with such short notice tonight. I have unfortunately just tested positive for COVID. We aim to reschedule the date ASAP and get back as soon as we can. Thank you all for your patience and understanding. Mick," he wrote.

The band, on the other hand, has confirmed and echoed the statement on their official Instagram account.

"The Rolling Stones are deeply sorry for tonight's postponement, but the safety of the audience, fellow musicians, and the touring crew has to take priority," the statement indicated.

Per the band, Mick Jagger tested positive upon arriving at the arena, exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms.

Fortunately, the concert was only postponed, rather than canceled. The Rolling Stones has assured fans that they are rescheduling the performance in honor of this day's ticket holders.

Variety reported that fans were already arriving at the venue. Ninety minutes before the scheduled performance, an announcer took the stage, announcing the current predicament of The Rolling Stone's vocalist.

Days before the unfortunate incident, Mick Jagger posted a video invitation in anticipation of the upcoming Amsterdam performance tonight.

The singer, despite being 78-year-old has proven resilient in his health. In 2019, he underwent a heart valve replacement surgery, immediately proceeding to go on tour months after.

So far, the only canceled date announced was tonight at Amsterdam. However, some fans express worry that the cancellation might be prolonged due to specific protocols.

The Rolling Stones 'SIXTY' European Tour is expected to continue traversing Europe on Friday night in Bern, Switzerland, before heading to Milan on Jun. 21, 2022. The next performance would be on Jul. 11 in Belgium after weeks of break.
