Ella Mai Recalls Collaborating With Mary J. Blige

One of her special guests, Ella Mai, previously collaborated with the R&B icon, saying she's one of her all-time favorites. The singer said Blige had been a part of her life since she was a kid.

"I was putting the album together I wanted somebody else to tell this story for me as opposed to me telling it through the music," she said in a previous interview.

The singer noted she wanted someone to guide her, and there was nobody else to teach her to speak about love except for Blige.

"If there's one person I'll always take advice from, it's her. If the torch is being passed down, I don't want to put words out there, but if so I'm honored," she added.

Mary J. Blige's 15th album was released earlier this year; it was her first record since 2017.

The album featured several collaborators, including Fivio Foreign, Anderson .Paak, Usher, and many more.
