Meghan Trainor's new upcoming album is right around the corner. The much-awaited project of the artist is long overdue, as her last effort came two years ago, "Treat Myself."

The announcement came a day after the singer released her new song, "Bad For Me," along with Teddy Swims.

The GRAMMY Award-winning singer hinted that fans would be hit with nostalgia on the upcoming record.

Meghan Trainor' Takin' It Back' New Album Details

"Takin' It Back" will be Meghan Trainor's fourth studio album, not counting her Christmas album last year, in the process.

The announcement also came along with the Rolling Stone feature, which talked about more details on the new album.

Trainor revealed that "Takin' It Back" will be like a return to her debut album, "Title," hitting fans with the nostalgic sound of her music.

"It's like Title 2.0. It's my old school. It's true to myself in all the weird genres that I go to, but also modern with my doo-wop in there," Meghan Trainor said.

As for the lyrics of her upcoming new music, Trainor noted that the lyrics on her song on this new album underway are "stronger than ever," but like her familiar songs, it would still be a "party."

The album detail announcement coincided with the release of Megan Trainor's new lead single, "Bad For Me," at midnight today.

The female singer has heavily teased the song on TikTok, where fans got a hold of the lyrics that contained ideas of staying in a toxic relationship.

"Please don't make promises that you can't keep / Your best intentions end up hurting me / No matter what I love you endlessly," the song says.

"Takin' It Back" will be Megan Trainor's first album since she last welcomed her firstborn, Riley, with Spy Kids actor Daryl Sabara. She also confessed that the songs would feature her motherhood journey and love for her husband.

Trainor will also take on body positivity themes as she noted that there would be songs about "learning to feel good again about her body." She confessed to having experienced scarring and physical changes following her pregnancy and C-section.

"I feel like my songwriting is much better since I had a C-section," Megan quipped.

"Takin' It Back" comes out on Oct. 21, 2022.
