Five Finger Death Punch's frontman, Ivan Moody, died - but he regained his life afterward.

Moody recently made everyone worried after revealing that he died a few moments after quitting alcohol. In an interview with Metal Hammer for Five Finger Death Punch's recent single, "The Tragic Truth," the frontman detailed the terrifying experience.

Per the singer, he passed away for "three and a half minutes" soon after quitting drinking cold turkey.

"I died! I'd been on a bender for about two years, and I'd gone four days without drinking in an entire year! Which is ridiculous. So, for four days I locked myself inside the house, and the fourth day my daughter came over and I went to hand her a glass of water, and that's all I remember," he detailed, per PEOPLE.

The 42-year-old told the outlet that he had struggled with alcohol addiction for years. However, his desire to make it stop almost led him to lose his life.

Moody disclosed that he stopped drinking without medical guidance or medications. With that, he reminded everyone of the risks of quitting without the proper process.

But after what happened, he reportedly felt peace for the first time in his life.

How Did Ivan Moody "Die"?

Moody disclosed further details about the experience and shared what "dying" truly looked like at that time.

The FFDP frontman described the place as a quiet, peaceful area in a blue haze. When he "died," the singer no longer felt worried about anything and did not have a unidirectional view.

"It was wide, and I could see and feel everything. There was no matter involved, I was pure energy, and I saw this incredibly blue light," he said. "It was the afterlife, and I was on the edge."

He added that his daughter brought him back from the mysterious state as he found himself lying with two paddles on his chest. His daughter, meanwhile, was crying hard.

When he heard her say "Please, not now," it became a wake-up call for the musician.

It was not the first issue he faced this year, though.

A since-deleted video post on Instagram (which was transcribed by Blabbermouth) in May showed the frontman's eye injury after a laser beam accidentally shot his eye during the Five Finger Death Punch performance at the Welcome to Rockville festival.

During their set, he purportedly felt overheated that he decided to walk back. Charlie Engen also found it exhausting that the drummer almost lost his consciousness, as well.

"And I reached for a cymbal and I felt myself going under. And so I ran back. And I was okay. My [guys] helped me out. And as I'm coming back on stage, one of the lasers kicked backwards, 'cause I tripped basically over it, and it shot me in the eye," he said, per Loudwire.
