With Beyonce's "Renaissance" album coming at the end of the week, conversations on her upcoming collaborations are growing, especially with one particular featured artist.

Queen B recently released the tracklist of "Renaissance" last week, including the collaborators.

What piqued the interest of fans was the inclusion of the dance club icon Grace Jones, who did not have the best friendship with the singer.

Beyonce, Grace Jones Drama Explained

Last 2015, when Grace Jones wrote her memoir, I'll Never Write My Memoirs, an excerpt of it was released online, which fans of Queen B have frowned upon.

On the released version, Jones noted that she was never comfortable in the middle of the stream, as she did not want to be flowing like everyone else in the same direction.

After highlighting that she wanted to stand out among the rest, the 74-year-old dancer namedropped some big names in pop music at the time to prove a point.

"Trends come along and people say, 'Follow that trend'. There's a lot of that around at the moment: 'Be like Sasha Fierce. Be like Miley Cyrus. Be like Rihanna. Be like Lady Gaga. Be like Rita Ora and Sia. Be like Madonna.' I cannot be like them - except to the extent that they are already being like me," Jones wrote in her memoir.

Additionally, although she refused to name the artist, Jones claimed that an artist among the said names wanted to collaborate with her, but she declined eventually as she would "draw from everything" she had built and get nothing but "temporary attention."

At the time, the Beehive buzzed in animosity against the Dance club icon, speculating that Queen B was the one she was taking a swipe on.

Seven years after, Beyonce unveiled the tracklist of her seventh solo studio album, which now included Grace Jones.

Beyonce, Grace Jones Collaboration' Move' in 'Renaissance'

"Renaissance's" tracklist listed Beyonce and Grace Jones would be working on "Move."

In a thematic standpoint, the collaborations make sense, considering that "Renaissance," was revealed to have dance and country songs. With Jones a dance icon, the song might be their perfect song together, The Daily Mail says.
