The Season 3 Premiere of "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" just landed on Disney Plus and debuted three new songs, including a Joshua Bassett solo.

Similar to the themes of his solo career, Joshua Bassett is also setting himself "free," parallel to his character Ricky, on the show.

"HSMTMTS" is taking a different route this season as the main gangs are spending their summer in the great outdoors while Olivia Rodrigo's character Nini is spending her time in California.

Joshua Bassett's New Song 'Finally Free' Debuts on HSMTMTS

Fresh from his sad breakup with Olivia Rodrigo's character Nini Salazar on "HSMTMTS" Season 2, Joshua Bassett's character picked up where he left off in the season finale - hanging out with Olivia Keegan's character, Lily.

Not more than 10 minutes of screentime on the premiere episode, Ricky, Joshua's character, is facing a rather complicated and awkward situation with Lily.

Unlike the main gang who's headed to Camp Shallow Lake, Ricky is supposedly going to Jacksonville with Lily until he accidentally finds out that it was her who stole his harness last season on their "Beauty and The Beast" musical.

Ricky then decided to "free" himself of Lily's deception and went on a solo road trip to Camp Shallow Lake.

But during her mile drive, Ricky sang an original song, which was written and produced by Joshua Bassett himself, titled "Finally Free."

The new song is fitting for both his character and real-life journey as his recent songs seemingly have the same themes and conveys an almost similar message of "freedom."

However, Joshua Bassett's new song on "HSMTMTS" is not to be confused with his new single coming next week, "Smoke Slow," which he exclusively revealed on "Good Morning America" days ago.

'HSMTMTS' Season 3 New Songs: Camp Rock and HSM Remix?

Aside from Ricky's solo song, two new songs were also released on the "HSMTMTS" Season 3 Premiere.

A few minutes into the start of the episode, Sofia Wylie, Julia Lester, Matt Cornett, Frankie Rodriguez, and Ciara Renee busted out a "High School Musical 2" and "Camp Rock" classic - "What Time is It?" and "Start the Party" - all mashed up into one heck of an intro song.

Towards the end of the show, newcomer Saylor Bell sang what seemed to be the camp song - Camp Shallow Lake - which everyone jams to ahead of Corbin Bleu's special announcement.

"High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" Season 3 is now streaming on Disney Plus.
