For his recent project with Lamar for "Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, he was credited on 13 of the 18 songs in the tracklist.

Speaking about the recent album, he revealed that the record took over five years to complete and it featured a vulnerable side of the rapper because of his emotions and experiences over that period.

The past five years were rough for them as there were mixed emotions about what happened within the society and the industry.

"We went through so much from the five year gap. We lost very key figures in our culture in Nipsey [Hussle] and Kobe [Bryant] within less than a year of each other, which can bring anybody down," he added.

The album amassed critical success as many critics praised the rapper for the way he evoked emotions through his lyricism.

"Mr. Morale" also became successful on the Billboard 200 chart as it debuted at No. 1, making it his fourth chart-topping album in the US.
