Heading to California for the summer break, Olivia Rodrigo's character, Nini Salazar-Roberts, is taking a vacation along with her two mothers in meantime.

Unanticipated, her mothers reveal that she would be meeting her biological father, who is one of their old friends, Marvin, played by Tony Award-Winning Actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

Since Episode 1, Rodrigo's character has struggled to write a song that her producer asked her to do. But in the latter part of the episode, Nini finally had the creative spark and wrote her own song which had the same name as her parents.

In a statement to PEOPLE Magazine, "HSMTMTS" creator Tim Federle noted that the song had a huge meaning for Rodrigo's character.

"Nini's new, acoustic solo is a poignant grace note to Olivia Rodrigo's remarkable run on our series. The song is all about how unpredictable a young person's future is - and how thrilling that can be, too. I cry when I hear it, and I smile when I think of how lucky we are to know Olivia. Bon voyage, Nini. Wildcats forever," Federle said.

"You Never Know" was performed by Olivia Rodrigo, however, based on the actual Spotify credits, the entire cast was credited.

As of this writing, Rodrigo has not yet confirmed if she had written the song nor if she would include it on her upcoming album.
