Rumors have it that Drake is already contemplating retirement. His net worth certainly allows him to do so if she wants to. He can never work a day in his life and yet still live comfortably. But then artists like Drake does not operate that way. They have to constantly create and make music. Drake says so himself.

Drake has told his followers that he has no plans to retire in the near future. The "Way 2 Sexy" rapper stated on the premiere episode of Nicki Minaj's Queen Radio show that he has no plans to slow down following the release of his seventh studio album "Honestly, Nevermind."

"I'm not at that point where I even consider that being an option," Drake told Nicki, reports Complex. "One of the best feelings I have in my life is completing a song or project. And by the way, those things are painful as well. A lot of nerves, a lot of confidence wavering. But I feel like I'm reaching a new level of fun. "I've reached a new level of comfortability where I want to try things. Like this last album, I put out something I wanted to do to challenge myself."

"Honestly, Nevermind" has been described as a dance album, with influences from house and Baltimore club music. The album, which was released in June, included 21 Savage as a guest artist and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.

This is hardly the time that Drake's retirement rumors have circulated though. They all started years ago, especially when Drake's "Views."

In "Weston Road Flows," Drake actually hinted about an early retirement.

He rapped, "Shout out to KD we relate we get the same attention. It's rainin' money, Oklahoma City Thunder. The most successful rapper 35 and under. I'm assumin' everybody's 35 and under. That's when I plan to retire, man it's already funded."

Drake turned 35 in 2021. It's now 2022. It's safe to say that the retirement ship has sailed. Fans did not want him to retire then, as evidenced by all the "violent" reactions those rap lyrics triggered, they do not want him to retire now.

It's safe to say that retiring from music is always on the back of the rapper's mind. As early as 2012, he already said he cannot envision being someone older than 35 and still rapping. He also said he certainly cannot envision it especially if he already met someone he wants to settle down with.

"I think that when I find that person and when it's established that we're going to enter a serious relationship, I don't even know if I will still be making rap music. I don't know how long I necessarily want to make rap music for. There are artists that are 35 and upwards who still make rap and it still works for them. I don't know if I'll be that guy. A lot of my music is about being young and figuring it all out, so I don't know if I can still make my brand of music when I'm up there. Maybe I'll be acting, or whatever it is," he said in the 2012 interview.

For now though, it's safe that Drake is already comfortable with the idea of rapping even if he's no longer 35.
