Lin Manuel Miranda is set to make his Broadway comeback with a new musical, "New York, New York," after a 7-year break since "Hamilton."

The musical, which was based on Martin Scorsese's hit film in 1977 of the same name, will hit the marquees in March 2023.

The cast for the upcoming production is yet to be announced, but theatre giants are already lined up to beef up the crew behind the stage.

'New York, New York' Musical Details: Everything You Need To Know

Deadline initially reported the news of the new Lin Manuel Miranda musical, "New York, New York," in which he would be writing new songs for the show, apart from the John Kander and Fred Ebb songs already included in the film.

Based on the report, the musical will be based "loosely" on Martin Scorsese's "New York, New York," which was released in the late 1970s.

Apart from this, Liza Minelli and Robert DeNiro's characters would not be returning to the stage in the 2023 production, according to the publication.

Like "Hamilton," which took place in New York, and "In The Heights" in Washington Heights, "New York, New York," based solely on its name, will be taking place in the Big Apple post-war in 1946.

Although the cast has yet to be announced, based on the last actors who played the role, it seemed like big shoes needed to be filled in.

Playbill reports that "The Scottsboro Boy's" Sharon Washington and David Thompson will be taking care of the show's book. American Theatre Hall of Fame Awardee Susan Stroman will take on the directorial helm and choreography.

Sam Davis (Company) will be handling music arrangements and supervision, Daryl Waters and Davis (The Color Purple) will be leading orchestrations, David Loud (She Loves Me) for vocal arrangements, Alvin Hough Jr. (Hello, Dolly!) will be directing the show's music.

As of this writing, casting breakdowns are being given out, recruiting a cast that includes 19 musicians and 31 members. Jim Carnahan is heading the casting process, while Foresight Theatrical manages the production in its entirety.

Indiewire learned that "New York, New York" has already been in the works for four years, and an exclusive workshop took place earlier this 2022.

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" producer Sonia Fredman and "Inheritance's" producer Tom Kirdahy will be producing the show, which is expected to open in 2023.
