Young Thug is currently behind bars waiting for trial due to his charges that's why fans were shocked when his Twitter account became active recently and he has an important question for a gold medalist Olympian.

Taking to his official and verified Twitter account, the rapper (or what fans thought) shared a post, saying he and his roommate wondered if people could swim 100 miles from the middle of the ocean back to the seashore.

He tagged Olympic-winning swimmer Michael Phelps in the tweet. The athlete quote-retweeted the post and shared a confident caption, saying he think he could do it.

Young Thug didn't stop there as he shared another curious question, asking if how long would it take him to do it.

Phelps did not immediately respond to the recent question.

As of this writing, the post amassed 85.6k likes on the social media platform.

Uproxx noted that the situation is odd because the rapper shouldn't be able to use his accounts or even his phone from jail as smartphones are considered contraband.

The account might be hacked or someone from his team has access to his profile.

Fans Share Hilarious Replies

After the post was shared online, many fans took the opportunity to poke fun at the situation, saying Young Thug is trying to escape from jail.

"i'm telling the guards you got a phone," one fan joked.

"First of all, isn't young thug in jail? Does he mean "cell mate" lol. 100 miles is so far. I think most people drown unless a current is helping them out," another fan wrote.

Young Thug Case Updates

The recent tweet comes almost two weeks after Young Thug's bond was denied for the third time in relation to his case.

Since he wasn't successful in paying the bond, the outlet noted that he would be staying at the Fulton Country Jail until his trial on January.

He previously attempted to request for bond twice, first in May after turning himself in to authorities, and the another one in June.

The rapper was involved in the case of Young Slime Life, popularly known as YSL. Authorities labeled them as a "hybrid criminal street gang."

Aside from him, other musicians like Yak Gotti and Gunna were also named in the case and were charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, drug possession, and many more.
