Demi Lovato now has a brighter outlook in life after struggling with mental health issues for years.

Lovato, who prefers to use she/they pronouns, revealed her more positive outlook on life after marking her 30th birthday. They shared further details about her life changes in an interview with SPIN Magazine for its new cover story.

According to the "Give Your Heart a Break" hitmaker, she never thought she would reach 30 due to her battle with addiction.

"Even in bouts of sobriety, my depression was so strong that I didn't think I'd get here today. But here I am. I'm in a new chapter in my life, and I don't know what my 30s have in store for me, but hopefully a family one day," they added.

They also noted that keeping things private works best for them as they see it as a journey.

Lovato detailed how she began learning to be more private after realizing that she has always given people too many details about herself. Once she reaches 35, she believes people would not learn anything about herself from her as she would be tired of doing the talking.

They found comfort in their not-so-perfect journey, acknowledging that they did not have an easy time being where they are today.

Demi Lovato Wants To Focus on Personal Life

Her recent comments resonated with the interview she had last month with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1. At that time, the "Stone Cold" crooner said she would want to take a slower pace in the next few years while focusing on their personal life.

After reaching 30, they reportedly felt that a door opened for her and welcomed her to a new chapter of her life.

She decided to embrace everything after revealing last year that she suffered three strokes and a heart attack in 2018 following a drug overdose. According to the pop star, she was left with brain damage, and she could still feel its effects.

At that time, she was rushed to hospital after she was found unconscious at her Los Angeles home. The report confirmed that she overdosed with opioids laced with fentanyl.

Unfortunately, part of that new chapter includes saying goodbye to music for good. Earlier this month, multiple news outlets, including CNN, quoted the singer's Instagram Stories post, saying that her next tour would be her last.
