The past few days have been wild for music fans as the news for the highly-awaited Super Bowl Halftime Show has been progressing quite quickly.

Last week, it was announced that Apple Music will be replacing Pepsi as the official sponsor for the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Shortly after, rumors that Taylor Swift will be performing emerged.

Not more than 24 hours later, TMZ confirmed the news that she turned down the invitation until she successfully re-recorded all of her six albums.

Now, Rihanna fans are grappling with the sudden announcement of her comeback - thanks to NFL and Apple Music as she is already confirmed to be the headlining the Super Bowl Halftime show.

Rihanna Super Bowl Halftime Show Comeback

The last time people has seen Rihanna performing was in 2016, along with the latest album, "Anti." Now, on the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show, Bad Girl Riri is marking her biggest comeback to music on the NFL stage.

Apple Music confirmed the news shortly after TMZ initially broke the news, following a post from Rihanna's social media handles where her inked hand is holding an NFL football in front of a pitch white background.

With the flurry of updates, pop music fans are overwhelmed - and the fact that Rihanna is making a music comeback, after a years-long clamor of her fans. "Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn.

A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever. Self-made in business and entertainment," Jay-Z said in the official announcement of Roc Nation.

But all things aside, fans have pointed out a glaring question. Would Rihanna's NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show mean that new music is coming soon?

Although a new album or new music is not a prerequisite for a Super Bowl performance, Rihanna's discography is relatively dry as she had not released any music since 2016's "Anti."

While some excited fans believe that new music or a new album might be coming soon, some are just really excited about seeing the "Diamonds" hitmaker back on stage.

As of this writing, it has not been addressed or hinted if Rihanna would release a new album or new music in the coming months ahead of the Super Bowl Halftime show.

Others have jokingly teased that since Rihanna has not produced any music, she might only be staging the biggest make-up tutorial on stage with her Fenty Collection.

The 2023 Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show will be taking place at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Feb. 12, 2022.
