Dj Akademiks has been in the headlines lately, and not for all the good reasons. Just the other day, he called Hip Hop pioneers "dusty," and now he insulted Lil Wayne's daughter.

According to reports, the 31-year-old talked about Reginae Carter, the daughter of Lil Wayne and Toya Johnson: "Reginae loved hood n****as, she love YFN Lucci, that was her n***a. Everything was all good with them until she realized n*****a caught a RICO, she seen that murder charge on it, I've never seen a chick quickly, [sic]"

"Reginae is seeing someone name Armon, I don't even know who that n****a is, She even downgraded like... she don't even like thugs anymore, [sic]" he said.

He went as far as calling her offensive names and insulting her boyfriend. "She got with a n***a who look more feminine than her. She got with a n****a who is like the opposite of gangster, who she can do guessing games. [sic]"

"You know these b*tches- let me not call her a b***h. These chicks love a hood n***a until he's facing 25 to life, [sic]" he added.

Call Out

Akademiks' remarks reached her mother, Toya Johnson, and her uncle, T.I., who directly addressed the rapper.

"[Akademiks], I can't stand men that do bitch s**t. Keep my daughter name out your mouth, [sic]" she wrote. "Clout chasing is at an all-time high. Let her live 23 yr old life. Worry about you and yours. Thanks."

T.I. also was having none of it, as he went on Instagram to tell Akademiks, "I would love to have a word with Akademiks, I got to put a call out to him. Hopefully, we can communicate our way through a positive resolution."

"[...] I would love to have a word to see if we can communicate ourselves to a position resolution cause certain s**t is avoidable, it's not worth the trouble."

He adds: "I'd love to chat about the remarks you made about my niece, [Reginae Carter]. Let's exchange perspectives... Man to man, and see if you depart with the same conclusion."

Akademiks addressed the issue through his interview with "The Breakfast Club" podcast.

"I didn't necessarily refer to her as a b***h," he said. "I was speaking about a public relationship."

He later clarified that he was "cracking jokes." As of this writing, Akademiks nor Johnson or T.I. have shared whether the situation has been dealt with.
