It might not come as a complete shock to some fans to know that Miguel and Nazanin Mandi are finally going their separate ways after three years of marriage.

A year ago, news of the pair's separation came to light, which shocked fans. The rapper and model have been high school sweethearts and had been together for over 17 years.

However, reports say the separation is now final as Mandi filed for divorce from the rapper, citing irreconcilable differences.

According to documents obtained by People Magazine, Mandi also noted that their properties and assets be divided as detailed in their prenuptial agreement.

'Just Felt Right'

The pair tied the knot in November 2018, and in an interview with E! News at the time, Mandi reflected on her relationship with the 36-year-old rapper.

"It just felt right. It was a long time coming and, when you're with somebody starting from 18, a lot of things happen," she said.

"There's a lot of growth. There's a lot of growing pains and all through our twenties was the time to get our minds right."

However, she is now singing a very different tune three years later. The model posted a series of pictures on her Instagram, which talked about confidence, growth, and healing.

"On a current journey of introspection and discovering my purest me again," she wrote. "When and who was I when I was my most free and confident self."

"She's still in there, and rising to the occasion but this time with life experience, defined wants, and an elevated mindset, one healing step at a time. If this is you, we got this."

In September 2021, a representative of the couple explained, "after 17 years together, Miguel and Nazanin Mandi have decided to separate and have been for some time now. The couple both wish each other well."

In February of this year, Mandi shared pictures of the two showing affection. The "Dreamcatcher" actress captioned the post, "when you put the work in and it works out."

Fans hoped that it would last, after all, their relationship was something like it came out of a romance novel.

They met in high school, where they began dating at the age of 18. They got engaged in 2016 and tied the knot two years after that.

However, it can be noted that Mandi did not specify when they will actually go their separate ways, because, according to reports, under the date of separation, the actress wrote "TBD."

Perhaps there is still a chance or they really are just discussing the details on how to proceed with their divorce. As of this writing, there is no word on either of those yet.
