Dua Lipa Denies Romance Rumors, Enjoys Single Status: 'Great To Just Be Alone, Only Think About Myself'

Dua Lipa is enjoying her single status for now. The English singer went on the iHeartRadio podcast to clear the air once and for all, she and Trevor Noah are just friends grabbing dinner together.

"For me, this is the first year I've not been in a relationship for a very long time," said the 27-year-old singer in the latest episode of "Dua Lipa: At Your Service."

She was previously dating Anwar Hadid until they put a pause on it in 2021 after dating for more than two years.

Despite being seen grabbing dinner with host Trevor Noah, the "Don't Start Now" singer explained that she is enjoying her single status. "It's been really great to just be alone and only think about myself and kind of be quite selfish."

This comes after dating rumors surrounding the "Levitating" singer after receiving a kiss on the cheek and an embrace from Noah. The two were spotted having dinner in the East Village in New York City.

'Just Friends'

Fans began speculating about them, knowing that both are sporting recently single status, with Lipa and Hadid have gone their separate ways in 2021, and Trevor recently splitting with Euphoria star Minka Kelly.

However, later reports noted that Lipa and Noah are "just friends," a source explained to People Magazine.

Lipa further explained that she found a connection with the host, "when you find someone that really softens you and calms you down - I think it's [a] Leo thing - it makes a big difference."

True to her word, which was published in the June/July issue of Vogue Magazine, she said "the next chapter of my life is about truly being good with being alone."

And as of late, the pop star has been focusing more on herself on going on solo dates, and sharing her adventures with fans.

"I want to know I can just be there for myself, you know?" She said.

Really Over?

When Lipa and Hadid started, dating, fans were ecstatic. The pair posted constantly about each other and flaunted their relationship on social media.

Despite that, the pop star revealed that she and Hadid were quite private of their relationship.

"We have all these incredible memories and experiences, [...] But at the same time, we're quite private - we'll only show you as much as we want you to see," she said.

""It's a little bit of give and take, trying to find the right balance of being so excited and being in love, and wanting to share that with the people around me, but at the same time not wanting to put too much out there."

The little moments the singer posted on social media has made fans swoon and gush, but now that they are through, some fans are a bit sad to see Lipa and Hadid go their separate ways, which they claimed was due to their busy schedules.

In December 2021, a source divulged that they were "taking a break" and "figuring things out."
