Shakira may be facing a legal battle recently, but it won't stop her from releasing music to hype her fans even more as she announced a collaboration with Ozuna; when is it coming out?

According to Billboard, the singer took to her social media accounts to share a short teaser of her upcoming song titled "Monotonía" which translates to "Monotony" in English.

The brief video shows an animated heart being pierced with a dagger as blood drips from the bottom part. The track's title was later added and placed on a banner.

Ozuna commented on the post, writing, "Un pequeño rey con una súper reina," which translates to "A little king with a super queen," pertaining to himself and Shakira.

The song will be available for purchase and streaming starting on October 19, 2022.

This was not the first time the "Whenever, Wherever" songstress teased fans about the collaboration as she shared the lyrics on Instagram earlier this week, writing, "No fue culpa tuya/ Ni tampoco mía/ Fue culpa de la monotonía," meaning, "It wasn't your fault/ Nor Mine/ It was the fault of monotony."

The song will be the follow-up to her previous single "Te Felicito" in collaboration with Rauw Alejandro. Her last track gained massive success as it dominated the Billboard Latin Airplay chart and became number one on the Argentinian Hot 100 chart.

Shakira's Legal Battle

The announcement comes a few weeks after a judge in Barcelona, Spain, approved that Shakira's case should undergo a trial for her alleged tax fraud battle.

According to CNN Entertainment, Spanish prosecutors claim that the 45-year-old Colombian star failed to pay personal income and wealth tax from 2012 to 2014. The amount was reportedly valued at a whopping $15.8 million.

Speaking to Elle Magazine, the singer denied all the accusations against her, saying she paid everything that she owed way before they filed a lawsuit.

"As of today, I owe zero to them," she told the fashion magazine.

A spokesperson for the singer issued a statement in July, saying she and her team consider that the legal case against her is a "total violation" of her rights because she always presented "impeccable behavior" as a person and taxpayer.

If ever the singer is convicted in the case, she would face eight years in prison in addition to fines.
