Many fans are looking forward to seeing Animal Collective perform across Europe and the United Kingdom but it appears that they won't be moving forward as they announced on social media; what happened?

According to NME, the experimental pop band was set to begin their tour in Ireland on November 2, but they recently shocked their followers upon announcing the cancelation of their highly-anticipated tour dates.

Taking to their official Instagram account, the group said they're "absolutely gutted" to tell their fans that they have decided not to move forward with their UK/European tour dates next month.

Although they love playing music live for their supporters, they experienced several hindrances over the past year regarding the ongoing pandemic and the economy.

First, they revealed that three of the members previously tested positive for COVID-19 forcing them to cancel shows which later led to the group losing "large amounts of the income" that sustains its members and their respective families.

Even though they were struggling, they decided to push through because they love to do it and they love performing for concert-goers who have been anticipating them.

Animal Collective's Tour Canceled Due to Economical Struggles?

However, getting ready for the tour was not easy as it took a toll on them, especially with the current state of the economy.

"Preparing for this tour we were looking at an economic reality that simply does not work and is not sustainable," they added.

Animal Collective cited inflation, currency devaluation, transportation costs, and bloated shipping are expensive and they couldn't sustain it with their budget.

Even though they have always been the kind of people who will push through despite their struggles, unless they're having health problems, they will still not perform as they wanted to choose their well-being first.

"We are choosing not to take the risk to our mental and physical health with the economic reality of what that tour would have been," they went on.

The "Summertime Clothes" hitmakers hope their fans could understand their decision and they want nothing more than to perform for their supporters again.

Concluding the post, they expressed their gratitude to promoters, venues, and fans who worked hard with them.

For fans who already bought tickets for the upcoming shows, Animal Collective advised them to go to their respective point of purchase to get their money back.
