Kanye West has been receiving a lot of attention over the past few weeks due to his alarming behavior on social media which caused him to be restricted on Twitter and Instagram. He also shared a shocking statement regarding Lizzo's weight, leading Azealia Banks to intervene and defend the singer.

Taking to her official Instagram account, the "Countess Contessa" rapper shared a brief statement seemingly defending the "About Damn Time" hitmaker.

"He can't be trying to lollipop off the 4 year old discussion about Lizzo's health and weight when he has an entire McDonald's commercial," she wrote, pertaining to the "Famous" rapper's advertisement in collaboration with the fast food chain for the 2022 Super Bowl.

As of this writing, West, who legally changed his name to "Ye" earlier this year, has not publicly responded to Banks' recent comments.

Even though the rapper defended the pop star over the Yeezy founder's comments, she previously reacted to her weight on her social media account a few years back, saying, "I hate you, fat Lizzo."

Kanye West's Shocking Comments About Lizzo

The recent reaction comes a few days after West appeared in an interview on "Tucker Carlson Tonight" where he commented about Lizzo's weight.

He claimed that the "demonic" promotion of obesity in the mainstream media aims to rush the "genocide of the Black race."

West made Lizzo an example, saying when she announces her weight loss on social media, the public would attack her because the media wants to "put out a perception that being overweight is the new goal when it's actually unhealthy." (via Billboard)

The "Good As Hell" songstress seemingly responded to the comments during her show at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada, last week, saying she feels like everybody in America got her name in their mouths for no reason.

Banks' reaction comes after insiders close to West revealed that they are concerned about the state of his mental health amid his social media rants.

According to Page Six, sources noted that the rapper's posts online are the result of a mental break and this could possibly his most serious episode.

Insiders revealed that the rapper is not sleeping regularly, which is a big issue that contributed to his hospitalization years ago.

As of this writing, West has not confirmed whether the ongoing reports about him are accurate or not.
