Girls Aloud will release a seven-inch vinyl record titled "Sound of the Underground" in memory of Sarah Harding. The band will release the vinyl on December 9, with all proceeds going to The Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal, which was created when the 39-year-old singer died of breast cancer in September 2021.

It will be the first time the 2002 song - the pop group's debut hit - is available on seven-inch vinyl and will feature a previously unheard alternative vocal version of the song from the band's archives. The vinyl will be limited to 5,000 copies and will feature a sheet of "Buy Girls, Bye Boys" stickers.

They were used to promote the band - Kimberley Walsh, Cheryl Tweedy, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, and Sarah - as they competed with fellow 'Popstars: The Rivals' winners One True Voice for the Christmas number one spot in 2002, which was ultimately won by 'Sound of the Underground' Nicola has promoted the record on Twitter.

She wrote: "To celebrate its 20th anniversary, 'Sound Of The Underground' is being issued for the very first time as a collectible 7" vinyl.

From the archives, a never-before-released alternative vocal version of the song will also be released.

This past weekend, Nadine Coyle reunited with her Girls Aloud bandmates for a special fundraiser honoring Sarah Harding.

Before her death, Sarah requested that her bandmates Cheryl Tweedy, 39, Nicola Roberts, 37, and Kimberley Walsh, 40, conduct the charity fundraiser in London. As part of the Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal, she wished to raise funds for the Christie NHS Foundation Trust and Cancer Research UK. The band that hosted the Primrose Ball determined that performing without Sarah "wouldn't feel right."

The ball was called after the words "Here I am, walking Primrose" from Girls Aloud's chart-topping single, "The Promise". Fearne Cotton hosted the evening, while Johnny Gould hosted a live auction. It also featured performances by Olly Alexander of Years and Years, Kaiser Chiefs' Ricky Wilson, and Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders.

Prior to the event, her former bandmates issued the following statement: "We are so grateful to The Londoner for hosting the Primrose Ball at their wonderful hotel."
