Comfort Zone

In an interview, Green Day talked about stepping out of their comfort zone for their fifth studio album.

Band members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool revealed that one of the songs off the album, "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)," came together during a house party in Berkley while the band was working on their third album "Dookie."

The song took a backseat in the meantime, as Green Day pondered what to do with it. However, they eventually decided to add it to the "Nimrod" tracklist.

"I thought people were probably gonna fucking hate it, you know?" said Armstrong.

While "Nimrod" is not their most successful album, it certainly is still worth celebrating its 25th anniversary for. According to reports, the album was a "pivotal" for the group.

Green Day was formed in 1987. They have released thirteen studio albums since 1990, with their most recent release being "Father of All Motherf**kers" in 2020.

They have received numerous awards through the years, including five Grammy Awards, six Billboard Music Awards, and several MTV awards from different countries and continents.
