Kelly Clarkson enlisted the help of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as they performed a duet of "Don't Come Home A-Drinkin'," in honor of the late country singer, Loretta Lynn.

Johnson joined Clarkson in her show, "The Kelly Clarkson Show," last Oct. 17, and performed Lynn's 1967 hit.

The lyrics follow a woman singing about her drunk lover, and giving him an ultimatum-booze or her. "Well, you thought I'd be waitin' up when you came home last night / You'd been out with all the boys and you ended up half tight / Liquor and love, they just don't mix / Leave that bottle or me behind / And don't come home a drinkin' with lovin' on your mind."

Lynn was a country music singer-songwriter who passed away on Oct. 4, she was 90 years old. She is considered to be an icon in the country music scene, with several awards and accolades under her belt.

According to reports, she garnered 51 Top 10 songs in her career. Her career has spanned decades, starting from the early 60s to the 2000s.

She won her fourth Grammy Award in 2010, after winning the Lifetime Achievement Award. She was also given the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama that same year. It is the highest civilian award in the United States.

Her death was announced by her family, noting that the singer died of natural causes, "surrounded by her loving family."

Fans React

The performance with the action movie star came as a surprise as several fans did not know or expect that the actor could catch a tune much less perform a country song.

"His voice really actually fits that song. Who would have guessed Dwayne is a country boy?" commented a user on the YouTube video.

Despite getting caught off guard by the duet, some fans seemingly demanded more of it. "We need more unexpected duets this season. This really made me smile the whole performance. Kelly deserved a country album."

"This is unexpected, didn't know Dwayne sang until now and loved his low voice that matches with Kelly's high notes which she killed it once more. What a great tribute to the late Loretta Lynn, [sic]" another commented.

"What a sweet tribute to Loretta. The duet we never knew we needed," added another.

Perhaps it is not common knowledge, but Johnson has sung several times before. He was the voice behind the character Maui from Disney's "Moana," released in 2016, reports say, and he sang the fan favorite "You're Welcome."
