Elton John is making history, although he is yet to wrap up his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour."

John officially started his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour," which would serve as the final tour of his decade-old career. He will end it with his 2,000th U.S show in Los Angeles in November.

Although he still has a few weeks before the end of his tours, he already broke a record and is expected to make history once he marks his last show.

According to Billboard Boxscore, the "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour" already grossed $661.3 million after selling a total of 4.5 million tickets across 257 shows as of October 9.

John reached the milestone despite the fact that he faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The amount made him the third musician to reach the $600 million mark, following the $736.4 million record by U2's 360 Tour and $776.4 million by Ed Sheeran's The Divide Tour.

John might break the two records as he still has 13 more shows before his last concert on November 20 at the Los Angeles' Dodger Stadium.

Whether he would grab that record or not, the legendary singer had already made history by becoming the highest-grossing solo act in Billboard Boxscore's history, as he had already grossed $1.7 billion and sold 19.1 million tickets.

Elton John's Final Tour Hits a Little Glitch

Amid his record-breaking stint, John decided to cancel his final concert in Houston.

On Monday, Astros officials said that the November 4 Minute Maid Park performance would not be pushed through. It will also not be rescheduled due to the updated 2022 MLB Postseason schedule.

The decision came after Houston advanced to the American League Championship Series after its Seattle game on Saturday. Once it won the ALCS, a Game 6 of the World Series would be held on November 4 in Houston.

John, regardless of his shortcomings, already expressed how thankful he is that he reached the place he currently stands.

In an interview with the Globe and Mail, he was asked what is left for him to want, to which John replied, "I've achieved everything I possibly could. I'm very close to my family. I've done and been rewarded with so many amazing things, I've met so many amazing people. There's nothing in my life I could possibly want, other than for my boys to do well. I just would like to remain at this level of happiness."
