James Bay just released his album "Leap" a few months ago and it seems like he already has plans for his next album, which could possibly be a full instrumental record without vocals.

In an interview with Hollywood Life to promote his collaboration with the Fender American Vintage II series, the musician was asked if there's a possibility for him to drop an album composed of entirely instrumental songs.

He answered in a straightforward manner, saying he's been "bottling up" a different side of him that the public has yet to see, a musician-instrumentalist version of him, as the world sees him as a songwriter.

"I will say that sometimes, I think I might have neglected the instrumental person I am. And as a result, I don't know whether there's a purely instrumental album on the horizon," he said.

In addition, the "Hold Back the River" hitmaker claims he's "more resigned than ever" and he meant it in a positive way.

Despite using the word, he's excited to add guitar solos on his next album, confirming that there is "a lot more instrumental music coming" from him.

Bay noted that there's a lot more coming in the future and he's already working on his fourth record. Although fans are excited, the singer has not revealed more information about his next project.

James Bay's New Journey

Earlier this year, the musician spoke to Forbes to talk about his latest album as well as his new journey in life, being a first-time father.

His baby's name is Ada, who was eight months old at the time. He described the feeling as the "most euphoric wonderful and terrifying" thing.

Even though he loves his baby very much, he had to leave for work as he's constantly working on music and touring in different cities. For him, leaving is awful, but he considers his job the best in the world.

Since his latest record was written way before his baby was born, James Bay said he wanted to write about parenthood in the future as he confirmed that he had already written a lot of music since the birth of Ada.

James Bay's "Leap" is currently available for purchase and streaming on major platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
