Matt Skiba opened up about his time with Blink-182 after the band planned a reunion with Tom DeLonge.

For seven years, Skiba played a huge role in Blink-182 after DeLonge's departure. Although he took a step back to allow the original lineup to reunite, he made something with the band the fans are yet to see.

In an interview with Vulture, the guitarist said he recorded several songs with Blink-182 that could be compiled into a new album.

"I don't know if they'll come out. I think they're really good. There's almost a whole album's worth of stuff. It was supposed to be an EP, and it just kept going, and going," he said.

Skiba and Blink-182 reportedly had eight to nine songs that were scheduled to be released. But Mark Hoppus' diagnosis seemingly affected the timeline.

For what it's worth, Hoppus was declared cancer-free after his months-long battle against stage 4 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. DLBCL is the most usual kind of non-Hodgkin lymphoma both in the U.S. and worldwide, and it develops from abnormal B cells that grow abnormally.

Hoppus' diagnosis was the same disease his mother suffered from, but the matriarch survived it and two other cancers in the past.

Skiba said he would keep those tracks a secret and keep those safe forever.

"I'm proud of the work that I did with them. We had a great time... There's no bad blood, there's no drama, there's no nothing. It's just the next chapter in the band's life," he continued, as quoted by Loudwire.
