Jane's Addiction's fans are left worrying and disappointed that the band they have been waiting to see for over a decade just announced several canceled shows following frontman Perry Farrell's injury.

The band is currently on tour with Smashing Pumpkins, whom they are an opening act for. According to reports, Farrell sustained his injury after their New York City performance.

They took to their social media accounts to share the devastating news through a statement on Oct. 24," Friends and lovers, the tour so far has been an absolute blast. Filled with so much joy, and rock vibes."

"I've loved seeing all your faces, hearing you sing with us, and feeling the love and energy from each and every one of you."

The statement continued, revealing the reason behind the update. "After Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, I suffered an injury that resulted in my inability to perform."

However, Jane's Addiction fans should not worry too much, as the frontman was not seriously injured and he reassured fans he was doing a lot better since "I have since been in pain and discomfort and have been receiving rigorous [physiotherapy] that has done wonders."

Canceled Shows

According to reports, the band initially canceled their show in Philadelphia, however, the follow-up post noted that they will cancel four more shows on the "Spirits On Fire" Tour.

The stops that won't be seeing the band in the meantime include Pittsburgh, Toronto, Montreal, and Quebec City.

The type of Farrell's injury was not disclosed, however, it was described as a "personal injury," and it "resulted in [his] inability to perform."

Farrell is not the only member of the band who had to sit out a couple of shows. Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro has been sitting out the current tour due to COVID, and was replaced by Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens of the Stone Age, reports say.

The "Spirit On Fire" tour is Jane's Addiction's first tour in more than ten years to feature the band's original and returning bassist Eric Avery.

Fans React

While the fans felt bad for the canceled shows, and understanding of Farrell's situation, there were some who raised their concerns.

"Why weren't those dates just postponed? It's a common occurrence these days & would have lived up to the reason why we bought tickets in the first place," a supposed concert attendee wrote.

"Thank you for the update but where is the update on my refund. I didn't pay almost $1000 to see just Smashing Pumpkins. I received no notice until I had to search the internet while I was sitting 2nd row waiting for you to come on. I think some sort of reimbursement would be nice," another wrote.
