Andrea Bocelli was seen patting his new rescue dog, Jack, in the garden of his Villa Alpemare home in Tuscan, Italy.

According to reports, Jack was recused from Ukraine. He got hit by some shrapnel in a missile strike, and it left him partially deaf. He is only one of the hundreds, if not thousands, of animals left behind in the war-stricken country.

Rescue efforts are currently ongoing, and hundreds of animals are now being rescued and brought into other parts of the world for rehoming. Jack is one of the lucky ones-he was brought to the Italian tenor by a friend who asked Bocelli to take care of the pup.

Welcome Home, Jack

Oles Malyarevich, a City Council Deputy in Kyiv, was the one who brought Jack to the opera singer, through an American friend.

The visually impaired singer reached down to pat Jack as the pup enthusiastically greeted him. Bocelli could be heard saying, "little one, little one. He's good. Hello, hello."

"Miracles happen even in the darkest of times," the City Council Deputy wrote. "Thank you to the Bocelli family for your big heart and kindness. We wish Jack a new happy life!"

Jack's arrival in the Bocelli home comes after the family's dog passed away. The opera singer shared the devastating news by sharing a picture of himself with Chopin, their dog, on Instagram on Aug. 5.

"After eleven years of silent joy, you lazily left this world without complaint on a hot summer day," he wrote.

"You always loved music, Chopin. In keeping with the name you valiantly bore, you showed a particular fondness for the piano," Bocelli continued.

"This is for you: you were and will remain a part of us, a greeting, a smile, a thought full of gratitude and sweet memories."

Bocelli is a multi-awarded opera singer. He was born with congenital glaucoma and was completely blind by the age of 12. However, this did not deter him from his passion-music.

He has performed for numerous prominent figures, including the late Queen Elizabeth II, Pope John Paul II, and more. He has recorded seventeen studio albums.

A video of Bocelli meeting Jack for the first time is available for viewing on Facebook.
