Selena Gomez does not only see Taylor Swift as a friend.

For over a decade, Gomez and Swift showed an ideal friendship everyone wants to have. As they support each other in their endeavors, the "Love You Like a Love Song" hitmaker shared more details about their friendship, and what she admires about the pop star.

On Thursday, she showered Swift with love through her SiriusXM Radio channel and called her the most influential artist for her.

"Not because she's my friend, but she has been an artist that can transition into so many different genres and she is able to do it seamlessly and I admire that so much. And that's so rare. I love her process and I just admire all the work that she's done. She's definitely inspired me," she went on.

Her recent comment resonated with what she told Rolling Stone in her recent interview with the magazine.

At that time, Gomez said the "Lavender Haze" singer is her only friend in the industry. She disclosed that she finds it hard to form friendships with other celebrities since she never fits in with a "cool group of celebrity friends."

Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift's Friendship

Gomez and Swift's friendship started in 2008. In a 2017 interview with KIIS FM UK, Gomez said that she and Swift met when they began dating Nick and Joe, respectively.

They had their first public photo together when they attended the premiere of "Another Cinderella Story." They showed their closeness, even more, when they attended the 2011 Peoples' Choice Awards in 2011.

Gomez scored the Favorite Breakout Artist, while Swift brought home the Favorite Country Artist recognition. Best friends' goal indeed!

They shared more moments in different awards ceremonies, including the Vanity Fair Oscars party, Billboard Music Awards, Teen Choice Awards, and American Music Awards, to name a few.

Gomez and Swift continuously showed their love to their fans by supporting each other's songs. Most recently, Gomez used TayTay's song "The Man" as she promoted Rare Beauty on TikTok.

Even as the "Ice Cream" singer suffered mental health issues, her best friend stayed by her side and proved their friendship to be lasting.

Swift then left her with a heartfelt comment, saying, "It's giving CEO it's giving gorgeousness it's giving friends forever."
