How much was Dan McCafferty's net worth upon his death?

On Instagram, Nazareth bassist Pete Agnew revealed the heartbreaking news about the hard rock band's frontman, saying McCafferty died on Tuesday at the age of 76.

He did not disclose his cause of death but referred to his message as the saddest announcement he ever made. Agnew posted on the music group's official Facebook page, saying: 

"Maryann and the family have lost a wonderful loving husband and father, I have lost my best friend and the world has lost one of the greatest singers who ever lived. Too upset to say anything more at this time," he wrote.

McCafferty's death truly affected everyone, as he had been in the industry for decades since 1968.

Dan McCafferty's net worth in 2022 was estimated to be around $4 million, according to Net Worth Post. Meanwhile, Biography Daily said it was between $3 million to $5 million.

Although the numbers were not estimated exactly, it is safe to say that the vocalist made millions from his debut in 1963 until his death this week.

McCafferty started his career in 1963, but he founded the Scottish hard rock band, Nazareth, five years later. The band released several hit albums, including "Nazareth," "Loud 'n' Proud," "Close Enough for Rock 'n' Roll," "Play 'n' the Game," "Malice in Wonderland," "Sound Elixir," "The Catch," and "No Jive," to name a few.

In 2013, he officially announced his retirement from touring because of several health issues.

On Nazareth Direct's website, it was revealed that the crooner had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which reportedly gotten worse in recent years.

Outside Nazareth, McCafferty had a solo career. He released three solo albums - "Out of Time" in 1975, "Into the Ring" in 1987, and "Last Testament" in 2019. The latter became his final solo album, marking his first project since the 1987 musical project.

"Love Hurts" was the first ballad The Everly Brothers has created. The song was a hit for Nazareth in 1974. In 1970, the musical group did away with doing covers, and started to establish themselves as an original rock band. To make their group official, its members resigned from their jobs, and relocated to London.
