Bad Bunny takes the biggest apple cake of them all as he was recently hailed as Apple Music 2022's Artist of the Year.

Formally known as Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, Bad Bunny has been making strides in his career as a Latin artist and as a musician in general.

According to Billboard, the "Me Porto Bonito" hitmaker has been recognized by the streaming giant as its Artist of the Year. To make the accomplishment even glitzier, he is the only artist to be named this year.

Since 2019, Apple Music has named quite a few artists already - this includes Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Megan Thee Stallion, The Weekend, and even Lil Baby.

"Un Verano Sin Ti," Bad Bunny's most recent album, is currently the biggest album of 2022 based on cumulative album units since it debuted on May 6, 2022. The album has not left the Top spots of the Billboard 200 albums chart since its debut.

The publication also noted that Bad Bunny was recognized because of his astounding excellence and influence on global culture this 2022.

"We're thrilled to celebrate the achievements of Bad Bunny, whose influence on every corner of culture could not be ignored in 2022. Watching Bad Bunny ascend from an Apple Music Up Next artist in 2018 to our Artist of the Year this year has been nothing short of extraordinary. We congratulate him on his record-breaking year and for continuing to bring Latin music to a massive global audience," Apple Music and Beats Vice President Oliver Schusser said in a statement quoted by Billboard.

As for Bad Bunny, he is nothing but thankful for the recognition: "I'm grateful for everything I've accomplished and everything I've experienced. The Latin music movement has grown so much. I would never take full credit or say, 'It's because of me.' No, it's every one of us. A whole generation. Our energy and presence are always felt."

Bad Bunny's "Un Verano Sin Ti" is poised to sweep the upcoming 2022 Latin Grammy Awards and the 2023 Grammy Awards.

Nominated ten times at the upcoming 2022 Latin Grammy Awards, Bad Bunny is pressed to win the Album of the Year award easily, among many other feats.

As for the 2023 Grammy Awards, the nomination list hasn't been out yet, but like Beyonce, Adele, Harry Styles, and Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny's album is a shoo-in at next year's Album of the Year.
