Although the 2023 Oscars is still months away, early predictions have already started rolling after a slew of hits was just released and started gaining traction.

Among the many songs eligible for the upcoming 2023 Oscars, here are some of the few tracks that Variety has predicted to be in the running for the coveted Best Original Song category at the Academy Awards.

"Lift Me Up" by Tems, Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna, and Ryan Coogler

Following its first film, "Black Panther" made history at the Oscars. Undoubtedly, its recent sequel, "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," will also perform great. SZA and Kendrick Lamar's "All The Stars" was pressed to win this last time. Will Rihanna and Tems' "Lift Me Up" finally secure that win for the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

"Hold My Hand" by Lady Gaga and Blood Pop

Lady Gaga's recent song for "Top Gun: Maverick" is also in huge consideration for the coveted award. Like they did in 2018, Gaga is against the "Black Panther" soundtrack. Gaga's iconic "Shallow" overshadowed "All The Stars" at the time. Will 2023 be another rematch and give Gaga his second Oscars?

"Applause" by Diane Warren

Warren has been nominated consecutively since 2016, her recent work on "Tell It Like a Woman" seemed to be a shoo-in again for the same category. She already has 13 nominations for Best Original Song. Will 2022 be the year she will finally earn her overdue trophy?

"Nobody Like U" by Billie Eilish and Finneas

One of the most beloved films this year is Disney Pixar's "Turning Red," which featured the fictional boyband 4*Town. Their biggest song, "Nobody Like U," transcends even off-screen. Sibling duo Billie Eilish and Finneas were last year's winners. Will they score a back-to-back win?

"Carolina" by Taylor Swift

Everything that Taylor Swift releases is a major hit. Although "Carolina" wasn't as big as her "Midnights," the song managed to harmoniously emanate "Where The Crawdads Sing's" overall vibe and mood. Will "Carlina" bring our blondie her first-ever Academy Award?

"My Mind and Me" by Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez recently released her eye-opening documentary on Apple TV, "My Mind and Me," which also birthed a new song of the same name. The documentary captivated what the embattled pop star was trying to communicate, and her song was also the perfect driver to push the poignant message across. Will this give Gomez her well-deserved Oscar?

The 95th Academy Awards will be held at the Dolbat Theatre in Los Angeles, California on March 12, 2023. Jimmy Kimmel will host the show.
