Ever since Britney Spears had been released from her very controversial conservatorship, her avid fans had been asking and waiting patiently for new music, and possibly a new album from the pop star.

The closest thing they got to new music was the collaboration with Elton John earlier this year - "Hold Me Closer."

Spears and John's collaboration was met with worldwide success, debuting at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, the song reached a higher placement on the UK Singles Chart at No. 3, the highest among the over 40 countries in the world.

Last week, the British Phonographic Industry certified the track Gold for selling more than 200,000 album units in the country.

Following the recent release, Variety had a quick chat with Elton John's manager and husband, David Furnish. He went on to reveal another possibility of the two working together again.

"He would love to work more with her, and actually work in person with her, because she was in L.A. and he was in London and it was recorded that way," he told the outlet.

In the recording OF "Hold Me Closer," the two artists were in different locations and were not able to meet physically due to certain constraints between the two. Despite this, the song was finished and was released eventually.

"It was actually my idea because we were talking about people to collaborate with. We talked and said, 'Wouldn't this be great to let Britney take a baby step to get her foot[ing] back, and if she wants to continue to go forward, that's her decision to make.' She can pick up the phone and speak to Elton about it at any time," Furnish elaborated.

Now, it seems like a Britney Spears and John Elton collaboration would again be possible - if Spears herself just wanted to do so.

However, with her current revelation on Instagram - Spears might have different things in mind.

According to her Instagram posts earlier this month, Spears finally explained the reason behind her highly talked about dance videos on the platforms. Fans have expressed concerns over her unusual behavior, linking her dancing and expression online as something related to a mental health disorder.

"I'm dancing in time now Victoria ... yes ... nerve damage on the right side of my body ... there's no cure except God I guess ... nerve damage is caused sometimes when you don't get enough oxygen to your brain ... your brain literally shuts down," she shared.

Apparently, her dancing helps her get by the pain that nerve damage has caused her.
