For a long time, Bruce Springsteen fans have been in a wild debate on what one of the words of his lyrics actually is.

For some, it sounded like a different word compared to the official one on the internet.

To finally settle the age-old question of the "Thunder Road" lyrics debacle, Bruce Springsteen graced "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" to finally pin down the issue.

As dashing as he is at 73 years old, Springsteen is confident heading on his upcoming 2023 tour with his band, filling multiple arenas in the United States for a career-spanning medley of his classic and hit songs.

Asked by Fallon about the "Thunder Road" lyrics debate, Springsteen finally clarified if Mary's dress "sways" or "waves," the music icon sounded so assured. (via TODAY)

"This record is almost 50 years old. Now, 50 years ago, I was a sociopath. So, I was insane about every single detail that had anything to do with music - my album, my album cover, my lyrics," referring to the 1975 album, "Born to Run" vinyl lyrics sheet. "I went over everything with a fine-toothed comb, so everything would be perfect and completely accurate. The lyrics to 'Thunder Road' are in this album. The correct lyrics."

Reading through it, Springsteen carefully and teasingly revealed what the correct "Thunder Road" lyrics are.

"I've been singing 'sways' for 50 years," he claimed.

But turns out, the correct "Thunder Road" lyrics are: "The screen door slams, Mary's dress... waves."

Fallon was visibly shocked by the revelation - and Springsteen does too, saying that his record, that he is so confident about, was "wrong."

"I am more confused now than when I was asked," Fallon confessed jokingly.

Elsewhere in the interview, Springsteen also answered one of social media's burning rumors - Bruce Springsteen is going On tour with Taylor Swift.

Turns out, Springsteen would be on Taylor Swift's highly awaited "The Eras" Tour - but not as a guest performer. The "Streets of Philadelphia" hitmaker will be accompanying his daughter, who he says was a "Swiftie," in the upcoming 52-date arena tour in the United States.

Meanwhile, the boss issued an open invitation to the popstar - that she is welcome to join the E Street band anytime.

Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band will embark on their 2023 Tour starting February next year until April.
