Blake Shelton is finally leaving "The Voice" after being part of the coaches since its inception.

But now, co-coach John Legend is already thinking about who should replace him.

The 43-year-old "All Of Me" hitmaker told Extra, "We have never had another country coach before; it has always been Blake... I could see Carrie [Underwood] doing it..."

"She could be good. Just an idea, Carrie. We'll see, we'll see."

This isn't completely out of the question, as the 39-year-old "Jesus Take The Wheel" singer, who rose to fame after winning "American Idol" in 2005, returned to the show earlier this year to mentor the top five finalists.

Blake Shelton announced that he would be leaving his role as a coach on "The Voice" at the end of the current season.

In a statement, he told fans, "This show has changed my life in every way for the better, and it will always feel like home to me."

"It's been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns, and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew, and catering people, you are the best."

Meanwhile, Blake's wife Gwen Stefani, who is also a coach on "The Voice," has commented on how the program will go without one of its founding judges.

The "Minimum Wage" singer brought a lot of excitement to the concert, according to the 53-year-old blonde beauty, who also called him brilliant and hilarious.

The "Hollaback Girl" singer also expressed her admiration for him.

Did Blake Shelton Quit Because of Gwen Stefani?

The country singer allegedly left "The Voice" to spend more time with Gwen Stefani and her three children, whom she shares with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.

Blake Shelton, according to Life & Style, wants to spend time with his wife and children since children grow up quickly and he wants to take advantage of the opportunity.

According to the insider, while Blake enjoyed his time on the show, he also believes that now is the perfect time for a new adventure.

Other outlets speculated that he left the show in order to focus on his marriage to Gwen.

"They decided they needed Blake to step away from the show so they could focus on each other," an insider said.

However, these should be taken with a grain of salt because Blake Shelton did not reveal the true reason for his departure from "The Voice."
